This spectacular species grows on coastal mountains in Southern Cape in acidic soil on fynbos slopes. Very well suited to cultivation in pots, they flower reliably in well-drained organic rich acidic soil. Used traditionally for treatment of coughs and headaches and also during labour and childbirth.
