The giant cyrtanthus. A striking species that is pollinated by sunbirds that occurs on dry sunny slopes. It is a wonderful species for growing in pots in well-drained gravelly soil with some organic compost mixed in. Used in traditional medicine as a remedy for chronic couch, and the dried powder is used to relieve head-aches and applied to wounds.
