A magnificent species with beautiful spirally leaves, broad basal sheaths that look like a frilled lizard and large white fragrant flowers. They do well in cultivation in deep pots with very well drained sandy medium. Similar to G.verticillata but it has much larger yellow fruit where verticillata has white speckled fruit, broader basal sheath which terminates in a wide frilled sheath, flowers slightly larger than G.verticillata and generally flower later.
