A magnificent species with beautiful spirally leaves, hairy basal sheaths and large white fragrant flowers. They do well in cultivation in deep pots with very well drained sandy medium. Similar to G.cavidens but it has white speckled fruit where cavidens has larger yellow fruit, narrower basal sheath with fine hair-like bristles, flowers slightly smaller than G.cavidens and generally flower earlier.
