Haemanthus humilis is a very widely spread species, as well as very variable depending on habitat. Leaves can vary from 3cm in dwarf forms to 1m long in Giant forms. They do well in a well-drained medium of river sand and finely sifted bark and compost. This is one of the real dwarf H.humilis forms, its prostrate leaves not even reaching 5cm long. Used in traditional medicine to treat stomach complaints, wounds and asthma.
