Uitenhage
Cyrtanthus taitii
Amaryllidaceae
One of the newly described species named after a friend and plant enthusiast Allan Tait. This very rare species grows well in cultivation in a mixture of course river sand and composted bark, but care needs to be taken not to overwater. The solitary bulbs do not multiply as many other cyrtanthus do.
