Watsonia meriana, known as the Bugle Lily, is a striking perennial native to Western Cape, South Africa. Growing from corms, it forms robust clumps of upright, sword-shaped leaves reaching up to 1m, with flowering spikes that can soar up to 1.5m tall. In spring this winter growing species dazzles with large, tubular blooms. It prefers full sun and humus-rich, well-draining soil, thriving in borders, en masse, or large containers. Water regularly during the winter growing season, letting soil partially dry between waterings. Watsonia meriana is valued for its ornamental beauty and resilience.
